The (very little) Big Sit and Walk at Wells State Park-Sturbridge

Join me (Dezeree) and my husband at our house in Sturbridge(near Wells State Park). Last year we did one at our old house in Holden. It was a lot of fun. But, now we're in Sturbridge and right next to a state park! We would love to start our first year off with a (very little) Big Sit. We will start at our house and bird for about an hour or so and then make our way down the road to Wells State Park.

What is a "Big Sit" you ask? Well, it is an event that usually takes place during fall migration where groups set themselves up in a 17 foot radius circle and count the birds that they see from where they are sitting. Big Sits are called "Big Sits" because they typically last up to 24 hours! We will NOT be doing a 24 hour one!

Instead, our "Big Sit" will be very little, in the spring and will start at 7:00 and end around 10:00. We ask that folks bring something comfortable to sit in, good boots (state park is muddy)and, of course, bring binoculars and bug spray!

My address will be shared with those that sign up only. If you have any questions about this, please call the store @508-347-2473
Skill Details:
This is an intermediate level event. If you consider yourself to be a beginner and are interested, give us a call at the store to discuss!
Requirements:
Please bring something comfortable to sit in/on, binoculars, proper outerwear and a bird guide if you have one. We ask that phones are on silent and put away. This is a look, listen and learn event! Oh, and bring your bug spray!
