The (little) Big Sit @ Dezeree's House in Holden

Join me (Dezeree) and my husband at our house in Holden. In the past 4 years, we have seen numerous Warbler, Thrush and songbird species come through our small yard during spring migration. We have always wanted to do a "Big Sit" and decided that this year would be the year!

What is a "Big Sit" you ask? Well, it is an event that usually takes place during fall migration where groups set themselves up in a 17 foot radius circle and count the birds that they see from where they are sitting. Big Sits are called "Big Sits" because they typically last up to 24 hours! We will NOT be doing a 24 hour one!

Instead, our "Big Sit" will be little, in the spring and will start at 7:00 and end around 10:00. We ask that folks bring something comfortable to sit in so we can form a circle. And, of course, bring binoculars and bug spray!

My address will be shared with those that sign up only. If you have any questions about this, please call the store @508-347-2473
